We are a grassroots based organization that works to save the Arctic’s last pristine environments through community outreach programs.
The Arctic plays a key role in safeguarding Earth’s unique atmosphere. Some of its greatest landscapes and wildlife are threatened by climate degradation, increased road construction, shipping traffic, oil and gas exploration, and mining. We aim to protect these areas from inappropriate development.
Today, the Arctic is at risk as never before.
For centuries, people have lived in the Arctic, coexisting with some of the most magnificent animals on this planet. But now all that is changing. Today, the Arctic is heating up twice as fast as the rest of the Earth, affecting entire ecosystems — precipitating the loss of fish stocks, birds, marine, and land mammals. Inappropriate development policies are causing sea level rise, changes in climate and precipitation patterns, increased severe weather events, and global warming greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere. In fact, scientists project that the Arctic Ocean will be completely ice free by the summer of 2030, causing massive environmental ruination.
